A big election is coming up in a few weeks and the State Election Board wants people to know they can vote by mail. It's a way to never miss an election.
Anyone can do it, and there are no lines.
“Oklahoma is a state where you don't have to have a reason to vote absentee,” said Election Board Secretary, Patty Bryant.
Any registered voter can get an absentee ballot in Oklahoma just by asking for it; and the state is actually encouraging us to use mail.
If you get on the State Election board website, look for the "skip the line vote by mail" icon and click on it, it will walk you through the steps to get an absentee ballot.
You can get a ballot sent to you for every election for the next year, or, you can request for the elections you know you'll be out of town.
"We mail out the military and overseas ballots 45 days before the election, the regular voters will get theirs 30 days before the election,” said Bryant.
You get it in plenty of time to look it over, do the research and make a good decision.
Any registered voter can do it, you never miss an election, you can take your time and there are no lines.
