A Tulsa man called for an ambulance - and no police - after allegedly squirting lighter fluid on his girlfriend early Sunday morning.
Instead, officers arrived at the home in the 200 block of East Independence Street and arrested Bennie Lee Coman for first degree arson, threatening a violent act and domestic assault and battery.
An arrest report states Coman, 55, called 911 requesting an ambulance at about 3:30 a.m. He told the dispatcher he "did not need T.P.D.," the report states. Officers say they arrived to assist medics, and Coman told them he had accidentally squirted butane fluid in his girlfriend's eyes.
The girlfriend told officers Coman got mad at her, poured lighter fluid all over her head and torso, then "pulled out a blue lighter, lit it and held it in front of her," the arresting officer said.
Police say he then apologized and called 911. He's being held on a $75,000 bond.
