TPS Approves Three New Charter Schools

Tulsa is getting three new charter schools. Tulsa Public Schools approved the plans Tuesday night to launch the schools next fall.

Tulsa is getting three new charter schools. Tulsa Public Schools approved the plans Tuesday night to launch the schools next fall.

College Bound Academy would begin with almost 100 kindergartners. The district would like to eventually expand the program into a Kindergarten through 4th grade charter school in East Tulsa.

The proposed Academic Enterprise Zone would include the following elementary schools: Columbus, Cooper, Disney, ECDE-Reed, Kerr, Lewis & Clark, Lindbergh, Peary, and Skelly.

Collegiate Hall will start with around 120 fourth and fifth graders, but will eventually go to eighth grade, serving kids around 61st and Peoria.

The proposed AEZ would include: Grimes, Grissom, Key, Marshall, McClure and Salk.

The Tulsa Honor Academy will start with around 128 fifth grade students and expand to hold fifth through eighth graders from around the district.

No AEZ has been designated for Tulsa Honor Academy.
