A Texas-based pipeline company announced it plans to construct a new crude oil pipeline between Cushing, Oklahoma and Memphis, Tennessee.
Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. said on its web site the 440-mile long Plains Diamond Pipeline will carry up to 200,000 barrels per day of domestic sweet crude oil from their terminal in Cushing to the Valero refinery in Memphis.
The cost of the project is expected to be approximately $900 million and is expected to be completed in late 2016.
A map of the 20-inch pipeline route shows it will cross eastern Oklahoma and into Arkansas near Fort Smith and then proceed eastward across central Arkansas.
Plains All American Pipeline said construction of the pipeline will produce 1,500 contract construction positions across Oklahoma and Arkansas.
