A Green Country man is the new world champion in archery. The new Buckmaster Indoor World Champion is back at his Grove home on Grand Lake after trophy hunting in Alabama.
Tyler Chubb was recently in Montgomery, Alabama at the 19th Buckmasters Expo – it's a huge gathering of thousands of outdoors men and women from all over the country – part of it is the indoor archery world championships.
"We all shoot two rounds on Thursday and two rounds on Friday, and they take the top 12 shooters from each pool and those 24 move on to the championship round,” Chubb said.
He said this may mean some sponsors will want to endorse him now, in fact, he's already been contacted by an arrow manufacturer.
In addition to a trophy he got to take home, there's a very nice check that comes with the championship.
Chubb said there are a few more competitions this year but bow season in Oklahoma begins on October 1st, so he's got work to do.
