Federal marshals and Grant Parish sheriff's deputies are looking for an Oklahoma inmate who escaped from the minimum-security prison in Pollock on Sunday.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons says 26-year-old Jose Garza was found missing at a head count at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Court records show Garza was serving a 12-year sentence for possessing a firearm in Oklahoma's western federal district after a felony conviction. U.S. Bureau of Prison records show he was scheduled for release in December 2018.
A news release says the U.S. Marshals Service and Grant Parish Sheriff's Department have been notified of the escape and an internal investigation has begun.
Authorities ask anyone with information about Garza to call the U.S. Marshals Service.
Garza is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-8 and 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The Associated Press contributed to this report
