Best Summer Ever: Tulsa Woman Wins New Ford Mustang

Congratulations to Doreen Gentles of Tulsa who won the 2014 Best Summer Ever contest.

The contest was once again a big success thanks to your Oklahoma Ford Dealers and viewers across Green Country. News On 6 received more than 392,000 entries during the nine-week contest.

From those entries, eight finalists were selected to take part in the Grand Prize Giveaway where one lucky winner would take home a new Ford Mustang!

The finalists who didn't win the car still walked away winners because each one took home a 32-inch LCD television plus a $1,000 credit courtesy of your Oklahoma Ford Dealers to redeem at any Oklahoma dealership!

In the grand prize giveaway, all eight finalists were given a box to unwrap with one box containing the winning Ford Mustang prize.

Doreen was one of our daily prize winners during week two. She entered the text-and-win contest while watching 6 in the Morning and won a $100 gift card to Braum's.

Doreen's husband Cornelius, three of her four children -- Caleb, Devon and Quincy -- and close friend Crystal were on hand the morning of the giveaway to cheer her on.

When asked how winning this car would help her, Doreen said, “By winning this car I won't be dependent on others to get to work or around town, I can drive myself!”

Doreen is a stay-at-home mom and works part times as a medical assistant in pediatrics.
