A woman drove a car into a Broken Arrow business Friday afternoon. A Lexus crashed inside the Doggie D'Tails dog groomer on 71st Street (Kenosha) between Lynn Lane and County Line.
Broken Arrow Fire Department and police were on scene at 1417 East Kenosha Street.
A woman trying to park hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, according to Broken Arrow Police. The car heavily damaged the dog grooming shop as well as a restaurant.Kianna Sam was working the cash register at the front of the shop when she saw the woman - a customer coming to pick up her dog - jump the curb. She said she panicked "over the top" when the woman drove through the front of the building and kept going.
"She came all the way through the wall into the next room," Sam said. "There were no customers inside, but we had bathers in the back."
Sam said it was very fortunate that no people or dogs were hurt, as they usually have dogs in crates at the front of the grooming room.
"All I could think about was - were the dogs OK," she said.
BAPD is still investigating the accident, according to Sergeant Ed Ferguson.
The dog groomers will move their operation to their second location until they are ready to re-open the Kenosha shop, according to Sam.
