A motorcyclist sideswiped another biker early Monday morning about four miles west of Adair, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. The two-motorcycle collision took place on Highway 28 about a mile east of the Will Rogers Turnpike gate in Mayes County.
Troopers say just after midnight a Disney man riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the highway tried to turn right onto a county road. That's when he was sideswiped by an eastbound 2001 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Strang resident Dieter Hollweb, 54.
The man on the Harley, 46-year-old Douglas Runyon, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable with head and other injuries. Hollweb was also taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable with head and other injuries.
Neither man was wearing a helmet, according to the collision report.
A passenger on Hollweb's bike, 42-year-old Rebecca Riggleman of Strang, was not injured.
Troopers say both drivers were in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck. The cause is listed as unsafe speed for traffic conditions.
