Green Country kids learned how to shoot a gun and fire a bow and arrow Saturday at the Youth Outdoor Expo in Tulsa.

It was a hands-on opportunity for outdoor education in a fun but safe environment. With the popularity of some recent films - archery seemed to be the popular sport to try.

Kids also learned how to identify and handle snakes as well riding an ATV safely.

"All our guys out here are experts, like I said," said Shane Bevel, Tulsa Bird Dog Association. "We have the game wardens doing shotguns, and everybody's kind of an expert in their own little areas. Safety is a huge thing for us."

Kids even learned about bee keeping. The expo was free and hosted by the Tulsa Bird Dog Association, Tulsa Archery Association, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and Tulsa Fly Fishers.
