Tulsa Man Charged In Fatal Shooting At Tonight Inn

A Tulsa man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man found in a SUV in the parking lot of Tonight Inn earlier this month.

A Tulsa man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man found in a SUV in the parking lot of Tonight Inn and Suites near Admiral and Memorial earlier this month. Police say Kordarius Lee Scott shot Richard Parker on July 12, 2014.

Parker, 57, was inside an SUV in the parking lot of the hotel. A woman who was in the passenger seat was wounded but survived.

Scott, 26, has been charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon, in addition to the murder charge. Court records show Scott was charged in April, 2014, with possession of methamphetamine, resisting an officer and some traffic offenses.

He was convicted in Kansas in 2011 and 2007 of aggravated battery and robbery, among other crimes. 

Scott is being held without bond in the Tulsa County Jail.
