A Claremore man wasn't hurt after his car caught fire on the side of an east Tulsa street early Thursday.
The Tulsa Fire Department was called to the fire near 11th and 193rd East Avenue at about 2 a.m.
Evan Dowd said he had just noticed smoke coming from the hood of his Ford Mustang when the engine suddenly burst into flames. He got out of the car before the fire spread.
“The lights on the dash didn't come on when I started it and apparently it was an electrical fire because the whole car caught fire and I had to get out of the car," said Evan Dowd.
Dowd said he had pulled over when he first smelled the smoke.
