A Tahlequah woman charged in connection with the death of a child in a Tulsa car crash last year is in jail.
Jennifer Shriver, 53, was charged earlier this month with second-degree murder, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from the October 10, 2013 fatal crash.
Police say Shriver was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck when it hit a Chevrolet Impala at 4th and Yale, killing Alejandra Ruiz, 8, of Tulsa.
Prosecutors said Shriver was high on marijuana and synthetic marijuana at the time of the crash. Court records show Shriver has four previous driving under the influence convictions in Cherokee and Washington counties.
She was arrested in Tahlequah and booked into the Tulsa County jail on Wednesday. Jail records show Shriver is being held on a $301,000 bond with a court appearance set for July 23, 2014.
