There was a new food truck on Guthrie Green making its appearance Wednesday: the Salvation Army canteen.

They were handing out free Blue Bell ice cream treats and taking donations.

July is Home Energy Aid Month, and the Salvation Army is seeking donations to help needy families pay their utility bills in the hot summer months.

"A lot of times in the hot summer and in the winter time they have to make a choice between paying rent, paying utility bills, buying food, whatever," said Major Jim Taylor, area commander.

If you would like to donate, they'll be at Guthrie Green for the next two Food Truck Wednesdays. Or donate online at the Salvation Army Tulsa website.
