A lot of tennis has been played at LaFortune Park over the years, but tennis fans have something new to celebrate as the facilities keep improving.

County officials and tennis lovers will host a ground and "building breaking" to mark the latest upgrade.

The old pro shop will be coming down as the new Case Tennis Center is kicked off at 5302 South Hudson Avenue, a news release states. The new facility, partly funded by local businessman Mike Case, will feature three new indoor championship courts as well as a pro shop and office space.

The ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the tennis center.

Other funding for the new facility comes from capital improvement funds and other private donations.
