For former Oklahoma State defensive lineman Calvin Barnett, there's no time to take a break.
"We're at practice and we're doing walkthroughs.," Barnett said. "And one of the veterans looked at me and he said ‘one speed, huh.' And I was like, yeah."
That's because the undrafted Barnett is attempting to make the Cleveland Browns roster. He calls it graduating to the NFL. He says the big transition is adjusting to the Browns 3-4 scheme and the higher level of competition in the pros compared to the best of the Big 12.
"I'm used to offenses running downhill, you know, double team blocks, that's what I'm used to," Barnett said. "Everybody on our offensive line is built like tackles. I originally figured I'll be alright. Well, they snapped the ball and took off running. I didn't know what to do."
But, at least he has another Cowboy teammate to help out: Browns first Round draft pick Justin Gilbert.
"I'm trying to make a name for myself and the school.," Barnett said. "And he's trying to do the same thing. And they're looking at us saying Oklahoma State has some pretty good players."
And what about that other first round draft pick of the Browns. You know, some guy named Johnny Manziel.
"We have had a few conversations together and I think he's real cool.," Barnett said. "He's real laid back. He's really not what everybody really thinks of him. And I saw it in person now, now he's really Johnny Football. You know, everybody watches him saying ‘he can't do that' in the NFL. He can."
