Sand Springs police have released the name of the toddler who drowned on Wednesday.
Mia Teaff, 2, was pronounced dead after her foster mother said she found her in the water after the girl wandered into the back yard past the safety fence.
Police said they were waiting to notify the child's biological parents before releasing the identities of Teaff and her foster parents.
The foster mother, Amber Alexander, is the wife of SSPD Sgt. Kyle Alexander, who was not at home and on duty at the time of the drowning.

Police have said they are investigating the death as seriously as they would any other, and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services also is conducting its own investigation. Two other foster children in the Alexander household were taken back into DHS custody during the investigation.
The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner will determine official cause of death.
SSPD Deputy Chief Carter also said the officer can take whatever time he needs before returning to work, and all officers who responded to the Tuesday morning call will be given the option of counseling if they think it's something they need.
