Wagoner County prosecutors have charged a Fort Gibson mother with second-degree murder in the death of her two-week-old daughter.
A judge ordered Christina Hall, 21, held on $150,000 bond Thursday.
Hall was arrested on June 17, 2014, after sheriff's deputies were called to investigate a possible child death. The infant had been taken to a Muskogee hospital.
Court documents said Hall admitted to deputies she went to sleep with her daughter beside her, awoke and didn't check on the infant for about an hour. The investigator said Hall admitted "she probably smothered Summer."
Hall's mother told police that before the baby was born, Christina Hall said she "wished the baby would just go away because it was making her life trouble," according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The mother also reportedly told investigators she had removed the baby from underneath her sleeping daughter six to seven times in the two weeks the infant had been alive.
A judge set Hall's next court appearance for July 31, 2014.
