Swim Beach On Lake Tenkiller Reopens

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District will reopen the Cookson Bend swim beach, on Lake Tenkiller at 12 p.m., on Thursday.

Laboratory tests showed E. coli levels are within acceptable ranges for swimming.

The beach initially closed on Monday.

Swim beaches at Snake Creek, Cookson Bend and Chicken Creek were closed June 13 after routine testing revealed elevated E. coli levels. Snake Creek and Chicken Creek swim beaches have since reopened after tests revealed those swim areas met water quality standards.
