Homicide detectives say a man found shot outside an east Tulsa apartment complex late Monday died Tuesday morning at the hospital.

They identify the victim as Deangelous Mackey, 37.

Officers were called to the Meadows Apartments in the 2800 block of South 116th East Avenue about shots being fired at about 11:40 p.m. When they arrived they found Mackey lying in a common area at the complex.

"There's multiple shots there. I don't know if there's more than one gun yet, but there are at least 3 to 4 shell casings," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker.

Walker said Mackey died at 8:28 a.m. He said they've learned there was a gathering of people in the common area and evidence shows there was a fight prior to the shooting.

Witnesses told police they saw two masked men running to a small maroon colored car driven by a third man.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Mackey was released from prison in March 2011 after serving two years on a domestic assault conviction out of Tulsa County.

If you know anything about this murder call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
