Oklahoma Highway Patrol two people were killed in a Creek County head-on collision. It happened late Wednesday morning west of Mannford.

Authorities say Herman James, 79, of Enid, was driving a truck and pulling a camper. He was eastbound on Highway 51 about a mile west of Highway 48 when an approaching Ford pickup truck, driven by Wayne Anderson, 71, of Yale, went left of center.

James tried to take evasive action but could not avoid the crash, troopers say.

The trucks collided head on and both men were killed.

Deanna James, 68, of Enid, a passenger in the first vehicle, survived the crash. She was treated and released from a Tulsa hospital.

The Mannford Fire Department extricated the drivers from their vehicles, a collision report says.
