The Eastern Oklahoma Region of the Red Cross is no longer needed to help flood victims in Warner.

The Red Cross was initially opening an emergency shelter in Warner due to flooding, a news release said. More than two inches of rain fell due to heavy storms Monday in parts of Muskogee County.

The Red Cross said they were responding to reports that as many as seven families are in need of shelter after an apartment complex was flooded.

Upon arrival Red Cross volunteers and staff determined the families were being helped by the management of the apartment complex and housed in motel rooms.
