Editor's note: Police at the scene of the incident Thursday night told News On 6 the victim was a man. Friday morning, police identified the victim as an 18-year-old woman. News On 6 has change the story to reflect that.
Tulsa Police have identified the woman who died when she was struck by an SUV on the inside shoulder of Highway 169 between 51st and 61st Street Thursday night.
Police say she was Whitney Marie Murrah, 18.
Officers said three people were on the shoulder loading a disabled motorcycle onto a truck when a northbound SUV struck Murrah at about 10:30 p.m.
The other two men suffered minor injuries.
Police shut down northbound 169 for over an hour while officers investigated the crash.
Police said they are unsure if the SUV's driver will be arrested, saying their investigation into the crash continues.
