Police Say Man Shot In Owasso 'Narcotics Deal Gone Awry'

A man has been transported to a Tulsa hospital after a shooting at the Greens Apartments in Owasso.

It happened at about 2 p.m. at 8406 North 133rd East Avenue.

Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff said the victim was shot in the abdomen in what they believe was a narcotics deal gone awry. He was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Police tell News On 6 they believe the victim is in critical condition. They say the man was not a resident at the apartment complex.

Authorities are questioning some juveniles and adults that were on the scene at the time of the shooting. Witnesses say they heard two shots fired, according to police.

"We're certain there was drug activity going on at the time," Woodruff said. "No community is free from drugs."

Woodruff said no arrests had been made early Saturday evening but, "all the involved parties, including the alleged shooter, are accounted for and cooperating with the investigation."
