Chera didn't run the Boston Marathon last year, but she ran it the year before. Several of her running mates did run it last year so the event will be very emotional for them.

News On 6 Anchor, Tulsa Runners Start Boston Marathon

Editor's note: News On 6 anchor Chera Kimiko is part of a large group of Tulsans running in the Boston Marathon today. Chera co-anchors the News On 6 at 9 p.m. newscast on Tulsa CW.

News On 6 anchor Chera Kimiko is heading to the starting line for the Boston Marathon. Chera has been posting messages on her Facebook page about how she and the other Tulsans are feeling this morning.

"This is it! Prayers go out to all of the runners! To my Tulsa friends, run like the wind! I'm so proud of you!" she posted Monday morning.

Running a marathon is a huge personal accomplishment, but the runners say it's just as important to them to show support for the Boston community after last year's terrorist attack.
