A Kansas company wants to put a wind farm in Osage County and, the zoning board wants your input.

Tradewind Energy wants to build a 16,000 acre wind farm along highway 60 between Pawhuska and Burbank. It would be called the Mustang Run Wind Project.

A permit was approved for similar project last fall, but this new company bought the project and couldn't start construction before that permit expired.

The company said the wind farm would provide enough power for 45,000 homes, but several Native American and environmental groups have opposed the wind farms because of the potential threat to wildlife in the area.

A public hearing is being held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the AG building at the Osage County fairgrounds.
