The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch Wednesday afternoon for parts of northeastern Oklahoma and southeastern Kansas.
The counties included in the watch are:
Craig, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee and Washington in Oklahoma and Chautauqua, Labette and Montgomery in Kansas.
The Tornado Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The News On 6 WARN Team says severe weather is possible Wednesday afternoon and Thursday for central and eastern Oklahoma and southeastern Kansas.
News On 6 meteorologists say Wednesday's threat includes a chance of golf ball-sized hail, damaging winds and tornadoes both days.
Meteorologist Alan Crone expects storms around the Tulsa area to develop after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Crone says this is all ahead of a big storm system moving into Oklahoma from the west.
He says a second round of storms could develop Thursday before moving into western Arkansas.
