A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck in Payne County Monday morning. Less than an hour later, a second quake with a 3.0 magnitude shook the same area.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first quake was recorded around 9:11 a.m. seven miles east of Stillwater at a depth of just over three miles. The second quake in almost the same area was recorded at 9:47 a.m.
No injuries or damage have been reported.
According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes of around three are generally the smallest ones felt by humans.
