North Tulsa Church Targeted By Copper Thieves

Copper thieves target a north Tulsa church and it's not the first time.

Reverend W.T. Lauderdale, of Gethsemane Baptist Church, said, "It seems like every time we turn around they are ripping us off with the air condition."

Lauderdale said someone cut copper out of three of their air conditioners overnight. The crime is costly for the small church, even though the crooks won't get much money from what they stole.

"Just some change, just some change," Lauderdale said. "If they'd come and ask me, I would give them some change."

Pastor Lauderdale says every time he has to file an insurance claim, it's more difficult to collect.
