TU Ace Earns Second Consecutive C-USA Pitcher Of The Week Award

Tulsa pitcher Aimee Creger has won back-to-back Conference USA Pitcher of the Week awards. Creger went 3-0 with 40 strikeouts in 19 innings in the past week.

Tulsa senior Aimee Creger went 3-0 with a 1.11 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 19.0 innings at the Aggie Classic, and earned her second straight Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday.

Creger picked up a victory over No. 8 Texas A&M on Sunday, and wins over Oregon State Friday and Saturday, leading the Golden Hurricane to a 5-0 sweep of the Aggie Classic. The Yukon native allowed just three runs on eight hits with eight walks and a .125 opponent batting average. She averaged 2.1 strikeouts per inning for the weekend.

On Sunday, Creger led the Golden Hurricane to a 5-2 win at Texas A&M, striking out 11 batters and allowing just two runs on four hits in 6.0 innings. On Saturday, she struck out 15 batters in a two-hit shutout with just one walk in a 4-0 victory over Oregon State. Friday against Oregon State, she struck out 14 batters in a 6.0-inning complete-game, allowing just two hits in the 9-1 victory.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action this weekend, Feb. 21-23, at the Georgia Tech/Kennesaw State Crossover Tournament. TU plays at Kennesaw State on Friday in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m., and a doubleheader at Georgia Tech beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Hurricane concludes the tournament against Georgia State at 9 a.m. Sunday.
