The State Fire Marshal's Office says a fire in a Eufaula RV Park on Friday was an accident.

Sam Sphafnitt, Chief of Operations for the State Fire Marshal's Office, said Monday that the fire at Twin Rivers Estates apparently started in the electrical area of an RV.

Sphafnitt said investigators can't be sure of all the circumstances because the trailer where it started was destroyed. Investigators believe the fire started near an electrical area and spread to the trailer's propane take further igniting the fire.

The RV park is in a remote area, and that allowed the fire to spread, Sphafnitt said. Twelve units were completely destroyed and four had minimal damage. Several propane tanks exploded.

While investigators report that 16 units were involved in the fire, no injuries were reported among residents. One firefighter was mildly injured but not transported.

They say most of the homes were not occupied because they are summer homes.
