The Tulsa Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were sent to the home in the 1400 block of North Evanston Place just after 8:30 a.m.
Fire officials said the homeowner awoke to smoke in the home and ran outside. Neighbors used garden hoses to try and put out the fire before firefighters arrived.
The homeowner wasn't injured.
TFD district chief Brian Hickerson said the fire damaged a bedroom and hallway of the home.
Firefighters rescued a cat from inside the home and gave it oxygen.
