Two men were rescued from a burning apartment in north Tulsa on Saturday morning.

Three civilians were able to break into the home and save two occupants at 2702 E. Haskell Ave. before firefighters arrived just after 9:30 a.m.

Both victims were taken to the hospital – a 59-year-old was admitted in fair condition and a 61-year-old is listed in serious condition.

Only one unit burned. It only took firefighters a few minutes to knock down the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the victims affected.

Investigators have determined the fire was caused by a faulty extension cord, May said.
