Spiro Man Sentenced To Life Without Parole For Killing Pregnant Girlfriend

A Spiro man convicted in September of killing a Fort Smith woman and her unborn child was sentenced Friday to two life sentences.

A LeFlore County judge sentenced Christopher Simpson, 27, to the maximum sentence, life without the possibility of parole for the April 2012, shooting death of Ka'Loni Marie Flynn, 20, and the subsequent death of her fetus.

In September, the Southwest Times Record reported a jury deliberated almost seven hours before finding Simpson guilty of two counts of first-degree murder.

According to trial testimony, DNA evidence shows Simpson was the father of Flynn's fetus.
