Tulsa County Gets Grant To Plan West Tulsa River Trail Extension

A plan is in the works to extend the River Trail in West Tulsa. The county announced Monday it has received a $75,000 federal grant.

That money - along with local donations - will pay to map out a plan to extend the river trail from Turkey Mountain to the Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks. The county says if all goes well, they would apply for another grant in a couple of years to pay for the project.

County leaders also approved a plan from a local group, to build an overlook in the trees just north of Chandler Park, giving people an amazing view of the foliage.
