October 19th and 20th, the City of Tulsa will offer free landfill days from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quarry Landfill located at 46th Street North about a 1-1/2 miles east of Highway 169.
The City states in a news release, this semi-annual event provides a chance for City of Tulsa utility customers to dispose of unwanted items, with the exception of objects containing Freon refrigerant, such as air conditioners and refrigerators.
To be admitted to the landfill without paying a fee, residents will need to show a City of Tulsa utility bill or a valid driver's license with an address located within the Tulsa city limits.
A $2.50 fee will be applied to each discarded tire with rim sizes up to 19.5 inches. For larger tires, the fee is $3.50 per tire. A $1.00 will be applied to motorcycle and smaller tires. Officials say the tire disposal charges cover state recycling fees.
