An Owasso man is in a Tulsa hospital after crashing his motorcycle Monday evening in Pawnee County according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Leon Whitmore, 62, was riding a 1997 Harley Davidson east on Highway 412 near Old Keystone Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the road and lost control at about 9 p.m.

The OHP report states Whitmore was not wearing a helmet and lists the cause of the crash as traveling too fast.

Troopers said Whitmore suffered internal and arm injuries in the crash.
