A man was shot dead on Saturday during a struggle with an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper in a back alley.
The trooper tried to stop the man for a traffic violation in West Tulsa before 10 p.m., but the man jumped out of his vehicle at 32nd West Avenue and 61st Street, and began running through a residential area and jumping over fences.
When the trooper caught the man in an alley and tried to arrest him, the two fought and the man went for the trooper's gun, according OHP.
At that time, the trooper shot the man twice, hitting him in the head and chest, OHP said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The trooper is on administrative leave pending an investigation.
The man's identity has not been released.
