A woman driving a car hit a trash crew truck parked on the side of the highway and officers said Rylyn Marshall, 4, was in the backseat restrained in a child seat at the time of the crash.
Police said four people, including the toddler, were taken to the hospital. They say the toddler died at the hospital several hours later.
