Two men ran from Tulsa Police early Wednesday after officers saw them attempting to steal an ATM from a bank near Pine Street and Cincinnati Avenue.

Police responded to the Bank of America branch at 2:15 a.m.

The men had wrapped a chain around the ATM and were trying to yank it out of the ground with a truck, according to officers.

The men drove off as officers arrived, beginning a chase that weaved across North Tulsa and ended about 40 minutes later at Apache Street and Yale Avenue, when police used stop sticks to flatten the truck's tires.

The passenger, Marcus Robinson, 22, jumped out of the vehicle and was arrested. The driver, Terrance Reed, 22, was arrested at the end of the chase.

Officers said a construction crew was working inside the bank and they initially thought that's how the alarm had been triggered.

Reed was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second-degree burglary and eluding.
