C.J. Cron and Robbie Widlansky hit back to back homers in the top of the first inning to help lift the Arkansas Travelers to an 8-3 Game-1 win.
Cron blasted a three-run homer to break the scoreless tie, then Widlansky followed with a solo shot to right to make it 4-0 right off the bat.
Kyle Parker got Tulsa on the board in the bottom of the third with an RBI single to left, scoring Delta Cleary. The Drillers added another run in the fourth Jayson Langfels' single drove home Angelys Nina to make it 4-2, but that's as close as it would get.
Arkansas scored a single run in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth to stretch the lead to 8-2.
Despite the lopsided score, Tulsa collected seven hits to Arkansas' eight, while each team committed one error.
Michael Roth earned the win for Arkansas, allowing just one earned run in seven innings. Christian Bergman allowed five earned in just 5.2 innings for Tulsa and took the loss.
Game 2 of the opening round of the Texas League Playoffs is Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. at OKEOK Field.
