Tulsa Driver Reaches For Energy Drink, Hits Gas Meters

Tulsa police say inattentive driving caused a minor gas leak Monday. It happened just after 7 a.m. in the 3500 block of West 41st Street.

Police say the woman driving a small sedan reached for an energy drink and ran off the road, taking out two gas meters and a section of chain link fence.

She reportedly told officers she blacked out for a moment.

Utility crews responded to the scene to shut off gas until the meters could be repaired. They said there was no danger to anyone in the neighborhood.

The woman is expected to be OK. EMSA checked her out at the scene.
