Boy, 4, Found Wandering In Casino Parking Garage; Father Arrested For Neglect

A Green Country man has been arrested for child neglect after a 4-year-old child was found wandering around a parking garage at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Thursday night.

Catoosa Police Assistant Chief of Police John Blish told News on 6 Harley Hayes, 44, was booked into the Rogers County Jail.

Hayes met police in the parking garage and claimed the boy had gotten away from him, Blish said. He said at this time, officers are looking into whether the family was living on the casino property in a van. Investigators are viewing the facility's surveillance footage to determine the chain of events.

Blish said the child has been taken into custody by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and authorities have made contact with the child's mother, Melissa Hayes.

Court records show Melissa Hayes pleaded guilty to child neglect in 2011 and received a 10-year suspended sentence.
