15-Year-Old Girl Killed In Crash On I-40

A Bethany teenager is dead after a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 40, just east of Henryetta.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 15-year-old Gwendolyn Hansen was riding in a car with a 16-year-old boy and 19-year-old Robert Paglia, of Spencer, who was driving.

Troopers say Paglia was going east on I-40 when he went from the left lane to the right shoulder to try to pass a semi truck that was in the right lane. His Ford Taurus then went off the road and hit a tree.

Hansen and the other passenger were pinned in the car for about 20 minutes and had to be freed by Henryetta firefighters, according to the report.

OHP says they were both admitted to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition, and Hansen later died from her injuries.

Troopers say Paglia refused treatment at the scene. According to the accident report, Paglia's condition was apparently normal.
