City Of Tulsa Pools Close For Kids, Open For Dogs

With kids going back to school, City of Tulsa pools will be closing this week. Two will open this weekend for K9 Splash events.

Tulsa city swimming pools will be closing this week in anticipation of the back-to-school season, the Parks and Recreation Department announced Tuesday. They will briefly reopen for some animal events after the children are gone.

Schedule for closings:

  • Lacy: August 6
  • McClure, Whiteside, Berry: August 9
  • Reed: Already closed

Reed and McClure pools will host two events for dog owners this weekend.

The annual K9 splash will take place at Reed pool on Saturday, August 10 from 2:30 or 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Reed Community Center, 4233 South Yukon.

The McClure pool K9 Splash will be from 2:30 or 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 11. Tickets can be purchased at Hicks Community Center, 3443 South Mingo.

Dogs must have current shots and be on a leash while entering or leaving the pool area. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance of the event.
