A convicted murderer, who escaped from Adair County jail, is back in custody.
The sheriff's office said two jail inmates, Carlos Locust, 25, and Mark Pack, 37, overpowered a jailer late Sunday and fled from the Stilwell jail.
The sheriff's office said Locust was back in custody after he turned himself in Monday night, around midnight.
Locust entered a guilty to plea to first degree manslaughter in May 2013 and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Court records show Locust was originally charged in February 2012 with first degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Steven Buckner in rural Adair County.

Sheriff David Hardin said Locust was awaiting transport to state prison when he escaped.
Pack was in jail after he was charged with shooting a Westville Police officer in 2012. He was re-captured early Monday about three blocks from the county jail.
