Firefighters believe lightning sparked an East Tulsa house fire early Friday. Neighbors say they heard a loud boom at about 5 a.m. in the Trinity Creek subdivision.

When they looked outside, they saw a roof on fire in the 16400 block of East 49th Street.

Authorities say the family was out of town and their pets have been boarded, so there were no injuries. Damage was to the roof on the back of the home.

The fire marshall will investigate, but the fire appears to have been caused by a lightning strike.
