Emergency crews are at the scene of a collision on northbound Highway 169 a few miles south of Oologah. Northbound traffic is down to one lane as Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and Rogers County firefighters work to clear the scene.
A semi tractor trailer truck driver pulled over to the side of the highway with a possible flat tire. Troopers say before the trucker had time to unbuckle his seat belt, his vehicle was hit from behind by a dually pickup.
Troopers say the pickup was going about 60 mph when it slammed into the parked truck.
The pickup ran up under the trailer, but the driver survived. The only part of the pickup without major damage was where he was sitting.
The trooper investigating the wreck says there's no doubt the pickup driver's seat belt saved his life.
The driver has arm and other injuries. Early reports are that his injuries are serious but not life threatening.
News On 6 anchor Craig Day is on scene, and we will have more information as it is confirmed.
