The Federal Management Agency has disaster survivor assistance teams in Okemah this week to help storm victims.
People needing assistance after the storms and tornadoes May 18, 2013, to June 2, 2013, can make applications for help.
FEMA personnel will be working in the community, going door to door, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 1, 2 and 3, according to Alan Cross, media relations specialist with FEMA.
"We want to make sure people who need help are pinpointed and get the help they need," Cross said Monday afternoon.
Look for the people in blue shirts - and if you know of a neighbor who needs help - be sure to steer them to the FEMA phone number or web site for more help, Cross said.
To apply for FEMA assistance, phone 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585) from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. You can also go online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or type in m.fema.gov on a smart phone.
So far over $11 million has been approved for individuals in nine counties, a FEMA release states. Over $16 million low interest business loans from the Small Business Association have also been approved for individuals.
