Funeral Set For Oklahoma Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

The body of an Oklahoma soldier killed in Afghanistan June 3, 2013 will be returned to the Arkansas Air National Guard base in Fort Smith Thursday.

The body of an Oklahoma soldier killed in Afghanistan June 3, will be returned to the Arkansas Air National Guard base in Fort Smith Thursday, a family member told KFSM TV, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith.

Spc. Robert Allan Pierce, 20, of Panama, was one of two soldiers killed when their unit was attacked by a suicide bomber in Tsamkani, Afghanistan.

Pierce's funeral is Saturday, June 15 at Community Bible Church in Fort Smith, and burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Pierce attended school in Panama, Okla. before transferring to a high school in Arkansas. He leaves behind his wife, Christian Marie Pierce, who is pregnant with the couple's son.
